How to set up Find my iPhone

1- Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 4.2. If you’re creating a free account for the first time, you need an iPhone 4.

2- Tap the Settings icon and choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3- Tap the Add Account button and select MobileMe.

4- Enter your Apple ID and password.

If you have an iTunes Store account or have ordered from the Apple Online Store, you already have an Apple ID.

If you don’t have an Apple ID, tap Create Free Apple ID and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you’re already a MobileMe subscriber, enter your me.com or mac.com email address and password.

5- Verify your account.

If your MobileMe account says “Not Verified,” check your email inbox for a message from Apple. Click Verify Now and sign in with your Apple ID.


If you don’t see a verification email in your inbox, select your MobileMe account and tap Resend Verification Email.

6- Return to the MobileMe screen and switch on Find My iPhone.

When the Find My iPhone message appears, tap Allow.

Descargas remotas de torrents usando Dropbox

Aplicaciones de torrents como Transmission tienen la capacidad de iniciar una descarga siempre que encuentren torrents en una determinada carpeta. Basta con indicarle que esa carpeta está en Dropbox y podrás arrancar las descargas remótamente. De ese modo podrás poner en Dropbox un torrent cuando estés en la oficina y al llegar a casa ya se habrá descargado la película para ver esta noche.

View Pages files in Windows

While you can export Pages documents to Windows-friendly formats, you might sometimes get caught in a bind and be able to send only the original .pages file to one of your Windows-using co-workers. But an anonymous Hints reader found a workaround:
Pages '09 files are actually archives containing a number of files. You can view those files if you change the extension of the Pages document file from .pages to .zip.

You can then unzip the file and view its contents. It will contain a QuickLook folder (which, logically enough, contains files required by Mac OS X's Quick Look utility). If you open up that QuickLook folder, you'll see a file named Preview.pdf, which is a PDF version of your Pages document. Your Windows-using friends can't edit that file without a PDF editor, but they can read it and print it just fine.

This trick works with Keynote and Numbers files, too. But note: It works only if the Include Preview in Document box was checked when you originally saved the iWork file. It's usually checked by default, however, so unless you unchecked it yourself, this tip should work.
